Materials that meet major challenges

Serge Ferrari composite materials are specified by major international architects because their lightness, low physical density and performance characteristics all contribute to a sustainable approach to construction. These materials combine insulation, translucence, lightness, strength and stability. In particular, Précontraint technology provides them with the best weight/performance ratio and long-term stability, enabling them to be fully in phase with mankind’s natural resources challenge: to do better with less and for longer.

An operational recycling chain unique in the world

Serge Ferrari invests more than 1% of its turnover in the design and industrial implementation of a recycling process: Texyloop®.
Back in 1998, Serge Ferrari laid the foundations of recycling technology that is now operational at industrial stage. This technology called Texyloop is unique in the world.
It provides materials with a second life and facilitates implementation of environmental offers in line with the expectations of major order placers.
The Texyloop operational recycling chain comprises a collection network, a sorting facility, an industrial facility and several re-usage chains including re-integration of material in certain Serge Ferrari ranges.

Environmental communication complying with ISO 14021,
access to verified information

To promote clear, legible information, the Serge Ferrari Group has implemented the following decisions:
• To perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) of all its products
• To make its LCAs available to all requesting parties
• To accompany its customers in performing their own full LCAs.
All Life Cycle Assessments of Serge Ferrari products are re-checked by internationally recognised, independent bodies: EVEA (France) and CIRAIG (Canada).

In September 1999, the International Standards Organisation published Standard ISO 14021 on self-declaration of environmental issues, so-called Type II declarations.
The main aim of this standard is to clarify environmental communication, in which the best borders on the worst. ISO 14021 requires environmental communication: true, accurate, verifiable, relevant and not misleading. Serge Ferrari has rigorously complied with this requirement for many years.

REACH compliance

REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) regulations came into force in June 2007. These European regulations require manufacturers to declare and use the chemical substances composing their products.
From June 2007, the Serge Ferrari Group has ensured compliance with these regulations and the company has gone further by implementing action to anticipate and exceed these regulatory requirements.
